The key to great dementia-friendly modifications is giving ChatGPT enough context about the cognitive stage and specific challenges you're accommodating. Use this structure:
"I run activities for residents with [mild/moderate/late-stage] dementia at an assisted living facility. I want to adapt [standard activity] for this population. Please provide: 1) modified instructions simplified for this cognitive level, 2) sensory elements to add that could increase engagement, 3) facilitation tips for common challenges, and 4) a shorter version if a resident has limited attention span."
Replace "[standard activity]" with whatever you're adapting. Examples:
