of 5— Create a resident profile template

What you'll accomplish

You'll have a de-identified resident preference roster saved in Claude that lets you quickly ask "Which residents would enjoy this new activity?" or "Who should I personally invite to today's concert?" without holding 80 resident profiles in your head.

What you'll need

  • A Claude.ai Pro account ($20/month) for larger context capacity
  • Your resident interest assessments and activity preference records
  • About 1 hour to enter the initial roster (15-20 residents can be done in 30 minutes)
  • Time needed: 1 hour setup; then 2 minutes per query
  • Cost: $20/month Claude Pro
  • Important: Use only first names or initials. No last names, no medical record numbers, no specific diagnoses in this system. This keeps it HIPAA-appropriate for an AI tool.

Create a Queryable Resident Preference Roster

Step 1: Create a resident profile template

Before entering any data, decide what fields to track. Use this simple template:

Copy and paste this
Resident: [First name / Initial only]
Age range: [70s/80s/90s]
Mobility: [Independent / Walker / Wheelchair]
Cognitive: [Independent / Mild dementia / Moderate dementia]
Favorite activities: [list]
Avoids or dislikes: [list]
Social preference: [Large group / Small group / One-on-one / Varies]
Best time of day: [Morning / Afternoon / Evening]
Special interests or background: [Former teacher, loves gardening, etc.]
Notes: [Any relevant engagement patterns]

Important: Do not include last names, room numbers, specific diagnoses, medical history, or any information that could uniquely identify a resident outside the facility.
